Hicks High School is a small rural school with an average student population of approximately 370.  We house Head Start, a federally funded preschool program, as well as kindergarten through twelfth grades.  Our school is the center of our community.  We offer dual enrollment courses through the Vernon Parish School Board and Northwestern State University for qualifying juniors and seniors so that they may get a  head start on college credits.  Students even have the opportunity to earn enough college credits to graduate with an associate degree.  We also offer opportunities for students to earn industry-based certifications in Oil and Gas Safety, Woodworks (sponsored by Roy O. Martin to prepare students to work at their Chopin plant), Microsoft Word, Microsoft Power Point, Adobe Reader, and Career-Work Ready.  We have a staff that is committed to the betterment of Hicks High School and its students.  We take much pride in being a Pirate.  Please take time to further explore our web pages to discover what a treasure HHS really is.
